Another day, another coffeehouse!  A new Independent Coffeehouse has joined the ranks in Birmingham, and we paid them a visit to check it out!

In 2011 friends Rob & Tom owned a couple of bars in Nottingham and shared a passion for great coffee.  They grew tired of bland corporate coffee and inconsistent, poorly supported artisan roasters supplying them; so decided to create something altogether more personal and hand-crafted!  Fast-forward to 2012 and 200 Degrees was born; supplying their signature blend 'Brazilian Love Affair' to a range of cafes, delis, bars, pubs and restaurants and quickly becoming known as the best coffee in the city.  The flagship Coffee Shop and Barista School opened in October 2014 to rave reviews, hoards of wonderful customers and one or two award ceremonies.  A second Nottingham shop followed next, before the Birmingham branch in July 2016.  They hand-roast coffee at a slightly lower temperature (around 200o Centigrade.. hence the name!) giving it a smooth taste that’s a little sweeter than usual.

Much of the 200 Degrees philosophy is based around serving coffee, keeping marketing to a minimum and letting people get on with their day.  Come by to meet with friends, do some work or sit on social media for 6 hours, whatever!  We took some snaps so you guys can have a look around.
