Overview:
As the Junior Photographer, you’ll be an integral part of the marketing team- responsible for shooting & sourcing strong photography for our social media platforms, website, emails, adverts and other marketing materials. You will work closely with the Brand Marketing Manager & wider marketing team to carry out the brand vision set by the Creative Director. As well as being a highly creative individual with a keen eye for detail, you will also have excellent communication skills allowing you to brief & liaise with external photographers, videographers and talent.
As an e-commerce business, the content we put out is the main window to our brand & one of the main ways we showcase our product. The Junior Photographer will understand the importance of taking and editing high-quality photos and video that match the brands' visual DNA set by the Creative Director. They should create content that is not only engaging but also shows the high standard of our clothing & goods- maintaining & acquiring new customers. This person will have to understand the brand's products and DNA inside out in order to capture what is needed.
You’ll be in the thick of the action following creative direction and marketing timelines to coordinate, shoot & edit content. As the secondary photographer, you will be primarily responsible for any studio & detail shots such as flat-lays, as well as events, e-commerce & smaller-scale location shoots. You will also have the opportunity to support our Creative Director on larger-scale campaign shoots.
You will easily build relationships with on-brand models, photographers and videographers, and source locations. It will be the Junior Photographer's responsibility to brief & oversee the execution of all content shoots. You will use the in-house resources to ensure clothing is prepped, styling boards are built and sets are dressed- using your initiative to make sure everything runs smoothly and to quickly solve any problem that may occur.
This position requires an extremely organised individual able to work on multiple projects at one time; working to tight deadlines to ensure that the Graphic Designer, Merchandiser & marketing teams have what they need to launch key campaigns & product collections. You will be a natural free-thinker using your creative know-how & analytical skills to provide inspiring content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for photographing & editing studio, event & e-commerce content.
- Follow creative direction & marketing timelines to coordinate all content shoots.
- Brief external photographers & videographers where necessary.
- Source, book & liaise with external content creators, on-brand models & modelling agencies.
- Source locations.
- Be responsible for all shoot prep including studio space, product prep, sourcing equipment & props, logistics, and working with the appropriate person to ensure styling sheets are ready.
- Support the Brand Marketing Manager with content ideation & create mood boards.
- Work to meet deadlines to align with product launches and events.
- Book collections & send products to external photoshoots.
- Budget & invoice management.
- Assist with lifestyle shoots.
- Manage & maintain content folders.
- Work with the production team to ensure photo samples are correct & in on time for photoshoots.
- Work with the Digital Marketing Team to understand what additional content is needed based on new data- including what is and isn't working.
- Edit photo & video footage when required- considering all social media & web formats and reflecting our video strategy.
Key Skill Requirements
- A (BA) Hons Degree in marketing, visual communications (photography) or similar is desirable but not required.GCSE Maths & English at C or above is required and an art/design subject is desirable.
- 2-3 years experience in marketing, photography or similar.
- Proficient in photography, editing & production.
- Experience in video editing is preferred.
- Candidates should have a good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & Premier Pro or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication & language skills.
- A natural content creator.
- A strong eye for detail & aesthetic.
- Should be a highly organised individual.
- Ability to problem-solve, adapt to change and follow creative direction.
- Should be a highly creative yet analytical thinker.
- Past experience working for a design brand, within retail or fashion ideal.
- Should have a strong awareness of other fashion, goods and design brands.
- Would ideally have a strong awareness of photographers, influencers & modelling agencies.
