WITH FELIX RUSSELL-SAW
Every campaign needs a photographer who can see beyond the frame, and for our autumn/winter shoot that was Felix. With over a decade of experience shooting bands, fashion, and personal projects, he brings a vision that’s both intuitive and precise. For Felix, photography isn’t just a job, it’s part of his daily life, like checking for his keys or phone before leaving the house.
For this campaign, which was shot in New York City as it was the perfect backdrop for the Americana/Varsity vibes of the collection, he relied on his trusted Leica M6 for 35mm and Pentax 67 for medium format. These are cameras he knows inside out, allowing him to focus on the moments rather than the mechanics. “Others might be objectively better, but these are seamless when getting the image I want. I’m kind of on autopilot with them, and it just works.”
Beyond the frame
The shoot was full of memorable moments. At the end of the first day, the team piled into the Defender, listening to BadBadNotGood, weaving through Brooklyn streets as the sun sank behind the skyline. They made it to a friend’s rooftop with just minutes of light left, a moment that perfectly captured the city’s magic and the mood of the collection.
“It was awesome,” he says. “Everyone’s up for hanging out, doing something, creating - it just doesn’t stop.”
A CITY OF CURIOSITY
New York offered something different for Felix. Having shot extensively in London and across Europe, he found the city’s curiosity refreshing. Locals stopped to ask about the brand, comment on the styling, and even pointed the team toward hidden gems. “It was awesome,” he says. “Everyone’s up for hanging out, doing something, creating - it just doesn’t stop.”
Outside of the shoot, Felix soaked up the city in a way that fuelled him creatively. Staying in Brooklyn, reconnecting with friends, and wandering the streets brought inspiration that seeped into every frame. For a photographer who thrives on observation and detail, New York offered both energy and opportunity.
