Choose one sizea story in suede
Last year, we launched a really special, limited-run piece: The Sierra Suede Jacket. It was a pivotal moment in P&Co history, as it was the most premium piece we’ve ever made, but the quality, finish and reaction from everyone who got their hands on one proved its worth. It sold out fast, and we knew we couldn’t let a jacket that special disappear after one season.
So, this year, we’ve brought The Sierra back, reimagined in a new Carafe brown-grey colourway.
Made from 100% genuine suede and built on our updated Type II style, The Sierra has a timeless, structured silhouette designed to get better with age. Subtle western-inspired front and back yokes sit alongside patch pockets with tonal stitch detailing, while branded antique brass shank buttons and a real leather neck label finish it off. It starts out special and develops more character with every wear.
And because this piece deserved more than a standard campaign, we decided to give it a shoot of its own.
Our Creative Director and photographer, Lee, headed down to London with Leon Cerrone, a familiar face around P&Co and a friend of the brand, to shoot a standalone edit for The Sierra. Rather than looking too far for a backdrop, they found themselves wandering the streets of Spitalfields, just a stone’s throw from our Flagship store.
For Leon, the location carried a little more weight than it might have seemed.
He’s spent a large part of his working life in and around East London. After moving to London to work for Folk, managing their store on Dray Walk before moving over to Holborn, he eventually found himself back east, working for renowned tailor Timothy Everest on Elder Street.
It was here that the shoot came full circle. The old tailoring house where Leon once worked became one of the backdrops for The Sierra, with the guys even stopping to shoot in the doorway of his old workplace.
“I spent time working out of the tailoring house and then opened a store for them on Redchurch Street,” Leon tells us. “I have very fond memories of working in East London.”
Those memories extend well beyond the working day. Leon remembers spending plenty of time in the pubs and bars around the area, meeting lifelong friends along the way. The Golden Heart, Bricklayers Arms, The Owl and Pussycat - places that became part of his East London story long before P&Co opened its doors in Spitalfields.
So naturally, the shoot ended with a pint of Guinness at The Griffin in Shoreditch.
“It certainly feels and seems like East is having a resurgence again,” he says. “With the likes of P&Co having the store and lots of new stores popping up, there’s a real buzz back East again.”
It felt like the right place, at the right time, for a jacket that’s all about longevity, character and the stories that come with it.
Leon’s own journey has taken him a long way from East London since those days, eventually leading him to look after the Richard James store on Savile Row, and now he’s even further afield than that, living up in Scotland. But there’s something fitting about him finding himself back here, shooting one of P&Co’s most considered pieces to date.
“If you had told the Saturday weekend boy that started at Diesel in Birmingham all those years ago that he’d end up here, he’d probably have laughed and told you to jog on,” Leon says. “But here he is telling you that he did.”
From the streets of East London to the story stitched into every detail, The Sierra is a jacket reimagined for another chapter and made to become part of your own story.
