Look closely at the fabric and you'll see its signature grid-like pattern running across the surface. Those reinforced threads aren't just there for looks. For Autumn, we brought ripstop into the P&Co collection for exactly that reason.
What Is Ripstop Fabric?
Ripstop is a fabric construction designed for durability. Thicker reinforcing threads are woven into the material at regular intervals, creating a subtle grid that helps strengthen the fabric.
If the material is damaged, the reinforced structure can help stop a small tear from continuing across the rest of the fabric. It's a simple idea, but one that's made ripstop a long-standing favourite for outdoor clothing, equipment and pieces designed for hard wear.
Today, ripstop can be made using different fibres and fabric blends. What remains consistent is the construction: a lightweight or midweight base fabric reinforced with stronger threads to create its distinctive appearance and added strength.
Why Is Ripstop Fabric So Durable?
Clothes are made to be worn. For us, durability is about choosing fabrics that can keep up with everyday life and still look the part.

Why We Use Ripstop at P&Co
We're always interested in the point where function and character meet.
