Capturing the Drop in Brooklyn

When we heard Triumph were hosting a store opening party in one of our favourite cities, and the borough of some of the best underground art and indie music scenes, we were gutted we couldn’t make it. But luckily for us, while we were busy in France for a very wet Wheels & Waves, friend of the crew & Brooklyn local Jessy Montoya was more than happy to attend for us.

The event got off to a pretty casual start with invitees and motorcycle enthusiasts chilling out, taking in the new surroundings and talking all things Triumph. But it wasn’t before long that the initially small gathering of bikes (and the smell of the BBQ) began to pique people’s interest, and soon it was attracting folk from all over the neighbourhood.

The fellow riders & proud owners of Triumph Josh & Gabe, Brooklyn, said they felt “humbled" by the the response to the store, and were happy to finally “find a home in Brooklyn, and to bring Triumph to NYC”. The Brooklyn store’s concept does not stray to far from your classic urban bike shop- with a rolling garage door, bare brick walls and industrial light fittings and fixtures. There are tastefully displayed helmets and tanks in amongst the clothing closets, and a impressive collection of Bonnevilles, Thruxtons and other classic Triumph builds.

There was music and a raffle that, to the guests amazement, took place on a platform that began to rise above the audience. People were winning awesome prizes, the drinks were flowing and people were chatting to other like-minded people, clinging onto their plastic red cups. What more do you want?
