Introducing: The Jett Kickflare Jean

Few items in the fashion world have had as many comebacks as flared jeans. What began as a utilitarian piece of naval uniform has really evolved into a symbol of rebellion, freedom, and unapologetic style, adopted and reimagined by countless subcultures and icons across the decades.

The origins of flared jeans can be traced back to the early 19th century when American sailors wore bell-bottom trousers for practical reasons. The wide hem made it easier to roll them up when cleaning the deck or to remove them quickly if they fell overboard. Fast forward to the 1960s and ‘70s, and flared jeans became a countercultural staple favoured by rock stars, activists, and free spirits alike.

By the time the late '70s rolled around, flared jeans had entered the mainstream, but it was in the hands (and wardrobes) of rock ‘n’ roll legends where they truly earned their iconic status. Cue Joan Jett. With her leather jacket, jet-black hair, and punk attitude, Joan Jett flipped the script on femininity and fashion. She was loud, raw, and never afraid to take up space, all qualities we wanted to channel when designing our latest denim:The Jett Kickflare Jeans.

Named in honour of Jett herself, The Jett Jeans are a modern reinterpretation of the classic flare. High-waisted with a flattering fit through the hips and a bold, bootcut silhouette that kicks out just enough to turn heads. We’ve kept the design rooted in vintage inspiration, but added subtle details and a cut that’s unmistakably P&Co.

This isn’t just a nod to nostalgia, it’s about taking something iconic and making it relevant for today. Whether you’re dressing them up or keeping it casual, The Jett Jeans are built to move with you and make a statement without shouting for attention.
