The 10th September 2023 is World Suicide Prevention day, a topic especially close to our hearts this year. Sadly, our Marketing Assistant, Frankie, lost her brother, Chris, to suicide three months ago. He was only 40 years old and left behind two young children and a family who thought the world of him. Sadly, this isn’t a one off story.

According to the World Health Organisation, it is estimated that there are more than 700,000 suicides a year, with men accounting for 75-80% of all deaths by suicide. It is actually the biggest killer in men under the age of 50. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

“Creating Hope Through Action’ is the theme of this particular day each year, serving as a reminder that there is an alternative to suicide and that through our actions, no matter how big or small, we may be able to provide hope to those who are struggling with their mental health."

On Sunday 10th September (until 23:59 BST), we are going to be donating 10% of all revenue to CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). Their goal is to provide life-saving services, as well as suicide bereavement services to those who have lost loved ones, provoke national conversation and bring people together to reject living miserably. Every penny raised helps them to answer someone’s call for help. As a cause close to our hearts, we want to support them, so that they can support others needing their help.
