ROMANCE AIN'T DEAD- THE COUPLES

Meet the duos that would rather be spending Valentines Day out on the open road or getting inked in the studio than sitting down for a candle-lit dinner. Although that would be nice right now too…

 We reached out to a number of ‘badass couples’; tattooists, the tattooed, surfers, musicians and bikers, that are proving romance ain’t dead without all (most of) the gushy stuff. If V Day isn’t your thing, just note these guys are pretty badass individuals too.

 

How long have you been together?
We've been together for 4 years and married about six months.

What do you guys get up to in your free time?
In our free time Jo typically is either surfing or riding his bike around the island, and if I’m not by his side attempting to surf I’m probably snapping photos from the beach.

What would you say makes you a badass couple?
I wouldn't say we’re really badass, we dig bikes and tattoos, but other than that we’re like a couple of old grandparents. We don’t really party or go out that often, we like an adventure but also to be in bed by 10.

What do you do for a living?
We are currently in the process of opening up a restaurant!

How long have you been together?  
We've been together a little over three years now!
 
Have you got any matching tattoos? 
We do! We both have matching "Vegas" tattoos which we got our first time there, we also both have matching hearts with the song title "ILYSB" by our favourite band LANY in the middle. We also have matching bull skulls with our first & second apartment numbers in them, we have matching "13" tattoos and we also have matching oranges we got with our friend Chris!
  
How will you be spending valentines day?  
Getting tattooed! He's going to draw something for me and I have to get it tattooed & vice versa. Very excited!!!
 
How did you meet?  
It's honestly such a long story, so to summarize we met through a mutual friend (shout out to Hannah - you're the true real one)
 
What do you do for a living?
Kurtis works as a customer engagement specialist at inbox and I work as a server in a pub :)

 

 

What do you both do for a living?
Daniel is first and foremost a musician; he plays bass for a band called Lone Kodiak. He also builds vintage Honda cafe racers at Riot Cycles in Los Angeles. As for me, I just left my job at Harley Davidson and am currently in “seeking my next adventure” mode. I’m excited to take some time to find out what I really want to do with my life and career.


How long have you been together?
7 months


Do you agree with the statement, couples that ride together, stay together?
Absolutely! We also have way more fun!


Jasmine, your one true love… your Bonnie or Daniel?
Haha, trick question! Well, I have put over ten thousand miles on my Bonneville in less than a year... so ask me again after Daniel and I have 10k miles on the road together. I can’t wait to hit the road this spring with the man I love.

We actually are about to hit our one year. This month. 
 
 
How did you meet?
I promise you she walked into a restaurant I was eating dinner at with some friends and the moment I saw her I knew I needed to make a move. So I did.

Would you agree with the statement- couples that ride together, stay together?
Yes riding gives you a completely different experience of each other and with each other. You'd be surprised at how much you learn about someone on a motorcycle trip. 
 
 
How do you spend your time together?
We love exploring. Anywhere away from the norm. An off grid coffee shack or a random cave in the forest has been our go to lately -b
Anything near water! Outdoors, hiking, cooking -m
 
 
What would you say makes you a badass couple? 
Definitely our unique creative wacky styles. Everyone knows Mikaela is the badass here keeping up with trends and fashion but she's a hippie at heart and that's where I fell in love. I'm the goofy one you know, it's a plus that she lets me bring home anything from hot wheel cars to vintage coke bottles. -b
 
--But mostly our styles and being different, we don't conform to anything or any standard we don't care to. We have SUPER different personalities that mesh. -m

How long have you been together?
We’ve been together for three and a half years now!
 
How did you meet?
We met on Instagram, funny enough. We had mutual social contacts and planned a photoshoot together in LA! We got to know everything about each other while living in two different states! We spoke on the phone multiple times a day for about four months until I finally moved to LA, where we started our journey together.
 
What would you say makes you a badass couple?
We have a little badass son together named Axel. I’d say our love for him and for each other is what makes us a badass couple. We make a damn good team and our little dude is the best thing that has ever happened to us!

 

How long have you two been together?
We've been together for 6 years.
 
What do you both do for a living?
Cameron is a tattooer at Stedfast Las Vegas. I recently left my mortgage job to pursue my own brand.
Would you ever let Cameron tattoo you?
Yes! Cameron has actually done most of my tattoos, other than two other artists. His dad is actually currently working on my back.
What would you say makes you a badass couple?
I think what makes cameron and I , a badass couple is the fact that we're constantly motivating each other to do big things, We share the same goals. We're also best friends so that helps!
