When designing the Bronco Bomber, we knew we wanted to create something that echoed the rich history of the original flight jackets. These jackets, first introduced in 1917 by the US Army, were made to keep WWI pilots warm in those freezing, open-air cockpits. Back then, it wasn’t about fashion—it was about functionality. But as time passed, these jackets evolved into something more than just practical gear.

By the time we hit the 1950’s, bomber jackets had not only become a staple for the military, but they started showing up in everyday life. The post-war era was all about freedom, rebellion, and breaking the mould, and the bomber jacket was at the heart of that shift. We’ve always been inspired by the 1950’s—an era when advertising was loud & unapologetic. Back then, there was a certain image that dominated the US marketing scene. Cowboys, wide open spaces, and a sense of adventure defined the culture. One particular brand from that time perfectly captured that rugged independent spirit, with images of people on horseback, looking out over an endless horizon & that iconic red branding. That’s the feeling we wanted to channel with the Bronco Bomber. It’s a tribute to those nostalgic campaigns, to the idea of living life on your own terms and embracing a bold, untamed sense of freedom. When we were sketching out the designs for this jacket, we kept coming back to that image of a lone figure on the open road. That’s the energy we wanted to bring to this piece.
